Poll: Have you ever dreamed of someone who has died?

Someone who has died. Like after the burial, you dream about the person, showing himself/herself to you.

yes, and it felt very very real and intense, almost like i was really with him. and he told me goodbye.

Yes. My brother-in-law committed suicide. The night before, something unexplainable and so evil whispered in my ear. I don't know if that was a dream or what it was.  But whatever it said to me I jumped out of bed crying, that has never happened before. It was like something was next to me in bed, I thought it was my husband at first, but found he was asleep on the couch. The next night my brother in law shot himslef and my family has been torn apart ever since. The night he shot himself I specifically dreamed of him, he was standing in the corner and would only show me one side of his face, my niece had the same dream that nite. And just last week I dreamed of him again, as well as my grandmother and cousin who also committed suicide one month after my brother-in-law. My cousin came to me and said I should stay with my husband and have children if I wanted to be happy...ok?  Then I saw my brother-in-law.  He looked like my blood brother yet I knew it was my brother-in-law. The only thing I can make of that was at the funerl home we weren't able to see him, but they let each of us hold his hand and say goodbye, I told him that he was always my real brother, I loved him just the same.

Yes, and actually at around the time they died too, it was a very vivid dream and the death was announced as if there was a news cast in a studio and the deceased was the guest of honor, oddly though the newscaster said that she committed suicide, even though she died of cancer.

I recently dreamed of my grandfather who died 16 years ago.  He was in a hospital bed and something was wrong with his skin, but he wanted to give all of his grandchildren a hug even though his skin hurt.  I sat on the hospital bed and hugged him.  He actually died of cancer and I was only 11 when he died.  I wanted to see him in the hospital before he died, but I couldn't bring myself to do it, I was so sad, I could see him dying, but I always wished I could have gone and told him goodbye one more time.

Sure, all the time. When i go to a funeral I dream about that person and I dream about loved ones who have passed on many years ago. I even dream of relatives who died before I was born.

My son passed away a month ago from heart failure and I still dream about him.  I am always holding him and hugging him in my dream and I think it is becuase I never got a chance to give him one last kiss or hold him  last time (he was 1 year old when he passed).  Then I also have dreams that he is alive, but I have to take him to his funeral.  I am not sure of the meaning of that dream.  SO to answer your question I think it is natural that you dream of someone that has paased.  It may be that person's spirit interacting with you or maybe it is your way of trying to sope with the loss of that person as to how you wish things would of or could of been.

Not that way, no, but I did dream of an obituary appearing for an elderly neighbor who hadn't died, and I didn't know his age. The obit was on the front page, right-hand column and the headline read: J--- B---- Dead at 90. Because of the nature of the subject, I didn't inquire of the neighbors. A few months later, in that same paper, front page, right-hand column was an obituary that read: Local Activist Dead at 90. It was him. He passed away on his 90th birthday! Creeped me out!

Yes, I have many times. I do believe our dead loved ones can and do visit us in dreams. However it is hard at times to determine whether it is just us missing them and thinking about them or their actual presence. All we can do is analyze the dream and see if there was a message  and only we can determine if it was a real visitation or just a natural dream.

YES  It was a beautiful and memorable dream, as my friend looked in her prime, young and vital.  This was after having died a prolonged death.  

AND my friend had one too of HER friend who died of an accidental drug overdose.

Definitely. Are you talking about about a person you assume is living and dream about them, and later learn they had died? Or you dream that someone is dieing, and then they die? Or you dream about someone who you know has died?

Yes, when I was much younger oh, around 12.

I seen my grandmother.  I got up the next morning to make her a "get-well" card, we were going over there later in the day.

I went to show my mom the card & she told me that Grandma has passed away early in the morning.

Yes, I've dreamt of several family members after they died. For some reason most of them wore religious attire even though they weren't particularly religious in life. My grandpa had a priest's attire on and my great grandmother wore an outfit of a nun. Wish I knew what that meant.

Yeah, and that would be pretty common if you just went through the whole loss of them and everything that involves, since it would be pretty well on your mind as it is.

But I've seen people. My grandparents I've rarely seen in my dreams. Another doesn't show up too often, only once in a while, but he did last night, and has been gone a few years.

Yes, my Aunt  died not to long ago. The day of her funeral when I was going to bed I had a dream that she was picking me up from school.

Yes, I have dreamed of people who were dead at the time.

They did not appear dead in the dream.  I remember one dream in which I said in the dream, "What are you doing here. You're dead."
