but I'm from the south so apparently i don't have an accent...

but everyone has an accent, just different types.

  3. Actually, there is no truly "neutral" accent.  It's all relative.  That means it depends on where you are.  In the United States, if you live in the South, a southern accent sounds normal, that is, neutral, and an eastern or northern or western accent sounds "foreign" in a sense.  But in, say, California, it is the southerner who sounds out of place and it is the western accent that seems neutral.  This accent is somewhat different from that of the person from Ohio, though, and still different from the New Yorker's accent.  All of these differ from the English speaker from London, England and one from Scotland and one from Australia.  Each area has its own typical accent, you see.  That's what makes language so interesting.

  4. I think the 'Mid-Atlantic' accent sounds terrible. Even in a small country like mine  (Ireland) there are lots of regional variations. Some are more pleasant to listen to than others, it is all a matter of taste.

  5. Iceland. I like it.

  6. no. different locals have different accent n even if we try harder we cannt achieve a universal neutral accent...

    well m an indian

  7. I'm from Spain, and I think that "neutral accent" is the most difficult to understand. So, no, I'm not trying to get it.
