Of course, I say. What do you think? Does it take much balls to be a bigot online?

  1. A coward in deed.  Modern society provides many bubbles of security that hide ones true disposition.  Your experience is the same as the dichotomous behavior of bumping in to people.

For example, if one bumps into a stranger on the street during a stroll, you can be sure apologies will follow profusely.  Why?  Because they know they may get into trouble, or at least be embarrassed by the other person, if they don't apologize and alleviate themselves of guilt or responsibility.

However, when one "bumps" into another on the highway in a car, or has a close call, people will shout expletives at each other along with rude gestures?

Why the difference in behavior?  In a car, one is physically protected by the car itself.  They can always drive off if things get too heated.  In real life, when one bumps into a stranger while walking, there is absolutely no protection and everyone realizes this, so they apologize to actually protect themselves.

In your particular case, the phone almost offers that same level of physical security one gets and feels in a car.

We only really get to know someone's true nature when all the protective environments are actually up!  This is when they feel safe enough to escape with impunity.

  2. Yes they are cowards. If you can't express your beliefs in person don't express them at all.

  3. no because your miles away from the people your decriminating

  4. Yes, they're cowards.  But their also smart because if they were like that in real life they'd get beat down.  It takes no balls to be a bigot on-line, you don't suffer the consequences, cause at the end of the night the computer shuts down and there on to the next day where the slate is clean.
