Poll....If you had to paint your bedroom, what color would you choose?

My Mom, said I needed to paint my bedroom, I do not live at home, I am 22, but my Mom thinks my new apartment, needs help, what color should I paint my new bedroom?

I would either do lavender, but a nice mural would make for a comfy setting. Are you artistically inclined? If not, or if you don't feel like going to the trouble, then just do a pleasant color that you wouldn't mind seeing every day. Make sure it's something that will make you feel good.

I've heard these tips before, so I'll pass them on;

*bright yellows and oranges may keep you

from feeling sleepy at night.

*dark blues and grays tend to make for a gloomy feel.

well, i have my own house so i did paint my room.....I chose "peach bisque"...sorta mauve/rust/brown mix...really nice and relaxing.

If you don't want to go with too much color at first, try painting one wall first...if you like it, you can leave it as an 'accent' wall. My old master bedroom had one big red wall (a la Big from SATC). It went well with my bedroom furniture and felt warm and inviting.

A soft serene blue, or a bluish sage if you like the greens. I would get a bed ensemble and choose your color pallet from it.

i painted my room pink and lime green. but i'm getting bored of it. so now i would paint it a deep orange and brown or violet. it all depends who you really are- this is the one place that shows your true colors(literally!). here's what i think...

cheery and creative= bright, vibrant colors

soothing and peaceful= light colors like lavender, a pale yellow, or light blue.

I just painted my walls with a light gray, and I got navy blue drapes and a comforter, and I have lilac accents.

Light Azure or turquoise - it is calm and reminds me of the sky or the beach

Coral or rose pink - this 'blush" adds a soft feeling of tranquilty and sweet dreams.

White - This colour symbolozes innocence and purity. White also goes well with black.

Light Olive - This helps create an interior natural landscape with soothing touchs. Green represents the forest leaves.

Look in your closet and see what color clothes you have the most of. Perhaps use this color in a lighter shade. Buy the paint that is the low sheen, it will look much nicer than the flat paint that the apartments use.  A coral blush paint color is a serene and flattering for a bedroom and blends with most neutrals or bright colors.
