Poll: Most overall medals or most Gold medals?

My parents and I had this argument about what the medals. I said that getting the most medals count more but they were arguing that they would rather have the most Golds. What do you think?

I go by either one but if i had to choose i'd say most medals because it takes talent to get ANY medal gold is just better. I think you should get credit for any medal recieved, which is the current system.

The more medals you get not the most gold all though i'd prefer gold.  Those athletes have to work really hard to get any medals.

I view it as the most medals in an Olympics as the most important because it shows that your nation is strong in a number of events, even if you don't win everything.

it is different when you have 10 gold compare to 11 sliver.

if rather have more golds because that means your team has the best athletes...if you have a ton of bronze thats good and all but i mean bronze its like your athletes are just makin the cut

Just to stand on the podium with a medal around your neck is an achievement  that many of us can dream about but very few ever achieve. I would have to say total medal count.

Well, it really depends on what the ratio is...if one country has 20 medals and 18 are bronze and another country has 18 medals, and 13 are gold, I'd def go w/ the 2nd country...however, that ratio seems unlikely so i'd prolly go w/ most medals...

Most Gold Medals. Isnt that what all athletes aim for to be the best?

It's more impressive to have the most gold medals. Only the gold medalist gets his or her country's National Anthem played for them, and they are truly heroes for their countries.
