Poll: Skiing?

Question

Okay, i want to know if anyone else love skiing/ snowboarding as much as i do. When i ski, its like im flying (im an expert)and i get that thrill, that rush that i never want to end, and summer drives me crazy, cuz im away from the mountains. Anyone else?

Probably, since I'm also one of those who has been in the business before most skiers were born.   Yes we do have a passion for the sport, it's as much a love for the mountains and the freedom and the social life as it is the snow.

   July is almost gone and the last of the areas are in their final month of this season. Timberline has a few camps still going on the glacier, the best in the world have been there in the past.

   Just cause the lifts are closed, it means you must HIKE to get a run or 2  it has been done many times. That is true love of the sport.   Its only 3 months till the season starts, one month till the sales.  Good turns to all.

Well, since there are more than one of us who regularly answer questions in this category that work either seasonally or year-yound in the ski industry, I would have to say that we probably love skiing more than most. Since most careers in the ski industry pay very little, I would have to say that those of us that regualrly collect paychecks from ski areas and ski shops probably really like what we do since we keep doing it. (At least three of the Top 10 answerers in this category work in the industry in one way or another. The rest may too, but I can't confirm it.)

We all love skiing for various reasons. There is no wrong reason to love skiing. There is no discipline that is better than another. Racers, Freestylers, Cruisers, XC-types, and dirtbag Telemarkers like me all know one thing... that what we do is a heck of a lot cooler than snowboarding.

Why not come over to Qiao Bo Ice and Snow World. and you could watch olympics during the summer. the lift ticket is only 30 bucks a day from 9am to 10 pm. Every year, I come back to china from the states and Mellow Park build up the jumps, slidebox, and rail. lol, I have been skiing for the whole summer. It's sad cuz my summer vacation is over, but there is only 3 months left before winter comes. so cheer
