I only wear trainers for their purpose i.e exercise! wearing them any longer will result in unhygienic filth and dirt and not to mention a lingering pong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really. I think that totally spotless trainers look like you don't feel comfy in them and are afraid to wear them in case they get a teeny wee spot of dirt in them. I wear trainers to feel relaxed, not up-tight in case I get a mark on them!!

dont really bother me that much although i don't like them to be dirty, they are in the washing machine as i type this!
