Poll: US Presidential election Q?

Should McCain be elected w/ Palin as a VP...

Hypothetically speaking, if 72 year old McCain dies during his presidency, that makes Nancy Pelosi (D) the VP under Palin (R).

Just curious if anyone has thought about that, and how that may affect America's foreign policy and other domestic policies.

Please share your thoughts.

  1. Pelosi, is she still in office. Sorry, I just remembered all of those promises she told us during the congressional election that she hasn't upheld along with the congress. No wonder congress has an approval rating below Bush's

  2. i don't think 72 is considered old these days, after all people can drop dead at any age. i'm not voting for them, but age has nothing to do with it. i get a very bad feeling from that pair, the same as i got from gw and cheney 8 years ago.

  3. When the VP assumes office because the President dies, the VP (now President) gets to appoint someone to fill their former position.

The Speaker of the House, does not get to be the VP. Only if the President and the VP both die, does the Speaker of the House get to become President.

  4. You know, I never really thought about it.....

It would be interesting to see if a democrat and republican could work together like that....

though I don't wish McCain to die just so I can find out.

But, this is pointless, Obama's the next president. I know it.....

or rather, I'm hoping for it.

  5. I think it is a good idea.  Certainly a better idea than Obama.  I just don't trust that guy.

  6. Well the Palin Pelosi thing would be terrible but that may not work.  Wouldn't that only work if Pelosi remained the speaker of the house after the election?

  7. if that were to happen, Palin would be the most guarded President of all time.

  8. if Palin becomes the president, the USA as we know will be done, our enemies will not hesitate to attack us

  9. No,  the thought of Palin as President is really scary.  Actually, just watching the Republican Convention is scary.  What is wrong with those people?  Do real everyday people actually buy what the speakers are trying to sell?

  10. McCain should not be elected based on his poor policies.

  11. It does not. They would name a new VP in that instance.

  12. What if Palin is found guilty of ethics violations in "Troopergate" and is forced to step down from the VP position, then 72 year old McCain dies in office....Pelosi would then become POTUS.  How's that sit with the Republican party?

  13. Neither McCain nor Obama are fit candidates.

    Both are ranting about change.

The RNC sounded like they were running against the current administration.

  14. Politics, politics, every where politics. Well the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout, down came the rain and washed the spider down. Out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again. LMAO

  15. no she would choose a Vice President just Like Gerald Ford did when Nixon resigned he Chose Nelson Rockerfeller

  16. Nancy Pelosi would not become the Vice President. She would remain the Speaker of the House, assuming the Democrats stay in the majority and she gets re-elected. If Palin had to take office as president, she would then appoint her own Vice-President. Pelosi would only take office if Both McCain and Palin were dead or incapacitated at the same time.

  17. Well, a vast majority of liberals now seem to think you're racist and a sexist if you vote for McCain.

  18. I feel that Palin is very, very inexperienced and seems to have a lot on her plate already.  I also don't like Pelosi very much and think she is a bit whiny.  I would not think it would be good for our country.

  19. Id worry more about if Obama lived and was president! Pelosi is gone this fall anyways because democratic congress has a 14% approval rating! Americans don't want a second Jimmy Carter term Obama would be!

  20. Palin would be sworn in then pick her new VP.

  21. It won't.  She will only be in an acting role as VP until a new VP is selected by Palin and confirmed.

  22. thats only if the dems can manage to hang on to the senate.

  23. That would be interesting, but it will never come to pass, Obama will win

  24. So, what you're saying is we need to get rid of Pelosi?

  25. I'd prefer Obama, but I totally get your point.  Great question.!!

  26. Oh Good Lord!!!!!!

Mac...you should NOT be asking me to think right now!!!!

I actually think it is a better choice for the US right now. This ticket is definitely the lessor of the two evils. And if there is a woman as President...think of all that can get done and done right!! I mean really...Palin is a MOTHER...can you say Multitask?? A woman in the White House will be beneficial all the way around, I think.

And as far as Palin being so inexperienced....look at it this way. She is the Gov of the largest state in the Union and she has "control" over most of the natural resources that are being fought over right now. Imagine the leadership abilities it takes to keep everyone at bay so that the right choices can be made. And she DOES have a lot on her plate...she is a Mom. But that does NOT mean she could not handle the job and do it well. That just means she is accoustomed to functioning on a lot less sleep!!! And the care of the children will not fall soley on her shoulders if she is elected into office. She has a husband and I am sure she has or will have some domestic help of some sort.

  27. i smell the scent of good change...and that odor is obama!
