Do you feel that it is becoming more difficult to get ahead -- that the cost of living exceeds middle-class wages?

  1. To me, no.  The middle class is continually redefined to embrace the group which is able to function within the current economic context.

    Those who earn the minimum wage are the ones who suffer when the economy slumps.

    And, the minimum wage earners are not considered to be in the middle class.


  2. Yes, it is true.

    Middle class wages can not provide

    .a house o an apartment in a safe place

    .organic food

    .first quality in medical attention

    .dental attention

    In other words, first necessities can not be satisfied.

    To improve, they need continue their education and this is not possible.

    Medium class is disappearing, not only in the USA.

I believe the middle-class is being reduced in size by the increasing cost of living.  When getting a simple hamburger meal costs as much as a decent meal from Black Eyed Peas, there is a problem.  This may not be the Great Depression, but we are on our way.  People with good paying jobs are trying to figure out how to cut back on expenses.  It's not easy.  Granted, prices will never be the same as they were 10 years ago.  However, we have to do something to make living in this country affordable.
