  1. I would have to say Bag of Bones and The Body.

  2. Misery

  3. hmmmm. it's hard for me to pick one, i have everything stephen king has ever written. i thought misery was one of his absolute best. i think it could be his own personal nightmare. as far as short stories go, i think the book of short stories, skeleton crew takes the cake. they are all so good.

  4. I love The Long Walk..

  5. Pet Sematary by Stephen King

  8. Oh jesus... I really liked the Shawshank Redemption, DreamCatcher, and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon!!

  10. Oh wow. That's a tough one. I'm really more a fan of his short stories. I remember reading "The Mist" when I was a kid, and just being terrified out of my mind. There's never been a single day since I read that story that fog doesn't scare the devil out of me.

His novellas are great, too. I'd especially vote for anything in Different Seasons, esp. The Body, Apt Pupil, and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. All of these were wonderful stories about all aspects of humanity: growing up, redemption, evil.

As far as novels go, The Shining will always be my favorite. Quite simply, I think it's the scariest ghost story that has ever been written. It made me sick with fear when I read it.

  11. It would have to be a tie between "The Stand" and "Hope Springs Eternal" (aka, "The Shawshank Redemption").

  12. Different Seasons novella, specifically Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.
