My girlfriends and I recently had this discussion. We laughed so hard at some points that we almost peed our pants! (we are all preggo, so that happens alot these days;o)

I would like to see if the general public's #1 worry was the same as ALL OF OURS.

Please be honest...embarrassing or not! After 10 or so answers, I'll let you know what our #1 fear was. I'm sure a lot of you can already guess what it is......

  1. Mine is actually tearing or an episiotomy.  I've heard you "won't even notice", but I am still terrified of it.

  2. What I was most scared was being in labor for 19 hours and then hear

"Your baby is in distress, her heart rate is going down drastically, you need a c-section immediately"

  3. tat they 4get 2 put mayo on my subway sandwich

  4. Episiotomy or having to get a c-section.  I think the episiotomy is more likely, so I'm scared of that.  But, a c-section would just be so upsetting to me.  Thankfully, my hospital has one of the lowest rates of c-section in the country (about 1 in 12) so I know they'll do everything else they can before surgery.

As for the very common fear of pooping on the doctor (which is my guess that you and your girls are frightened of!) I really am not worried about it at all.  I'm probably more inclined to laugh about it--I told my husband to tell me if he notices that I pooped...with my sense of humor, it'd probably be useful for me to know...haha!  The nurses/doctors have seen it before, it's not going to bother them in the slightest.

  5. Tearing, definitely worried about tearing. If I p**p I p**p, I won't be the first woman the doc has seen do it and I won't be the last so I don't care.

The tearing, oh my, just thinking about it makes me cringe.

  6. I am actually not too scared of the actual labor part although I am not too keen on having my husband there to see me on display but my biggest fear is needing to do an emergency C-section...that's what happened to my sister

  7. going #2 on the table. didn't happen but that was all I was worried about!

  8. the PAIN..

prior to labor i was not liking the fact of everyone including my mother seeing my hoohaa, but once you are in pain, you dont care anymore and there could be 100 people in the room and it dosnt phaze you.

  9. episiotomy.

Honestly, I'm not scared about labor.

I keep reading on babycenter.com and in What To Expect, about how to cope with labor fear.

I'm really not scared about the birth, at all.

If anything, I'm scared that I'll have to get an episiotomy, but that's it.

  10. Tearing, an extremely long labor, pain... something happening to my baby.

  11. Well I am 39 weeks and 3 days and I am most scared about pooping on myself during labor. I am a very private person so I don't really like ppl looking at my most private place. I am also scared about the epidural (sorry can't spell) I hate shots and they have to give it to me in my back. I have a very low tolerance for pain so I am really worried about that. How long will it take I really don't want to be in labor for days lol. What if I just can not do it. I will feel like a complete failure as a mother and the kids is not here yet. As you can tell this is my first and maybe my last. Good luck to ya.

  12. The need for a c-section after spending hours in labor.

  13. Tearing down there and pooping on the doctor.

  14. the pain...and the fact that i will officially be becoming a mommy and be have a child be completely dependent on me,i worry i may not do a good job.

  15. well i peed on the doctor first push i had really no fear i just wanted a healthy child
