  1. They both have a long history, so total blame is impossible.

South Ossetia is apart of Georgia and any country would do what every it can to keep itself together.  Our own civil war should have taught us that much.

Again Ossetia is apart of Georgia, many of the citizens are Russian, and Russia had peace keepers there. That's very suspicious, because the land belongs to Georgia but Russia can fight and attack because all Russia had to say was  it's citizens were in trouble. Now if the citizens are consider Russians, what makes us think that they will have their independence anyway?

    South

  2. Since President Bush is all for fighting for "Freedom and Democracy"

then I think we should help Georgia kick Russias butt by supplying air support, advisors and ammo! They have thousands of troops fighting on the ground in Iraq and Afganistan with us. You watch, Russia is going to take advantage of this by bullying other countries into remaining Russian dominated! It pisses Russia off that Georgia wants to join NATO. This is all about Power and Control of the region and its OIL by Russia who is running around the world and the ANTARTIC claiming rights to oil reserves! You mark my words, the next world war will be fought, for the most part, over ENERGY!  All it will take is something like this, or Iran nuking Israle, to set it off, but it will be largely about control of the worlds energy supplies!

But look, regarding Georgia, if my neighbor and friend is whipping the daylights out of his kid for gross misbehavior, and his neighbor (the neighborhood bully with a reputation for being a thug) came over and started to stomp my friend into the ground and was obviously going to kill him, I would jump in with all means at my disposal and stop it!

I wouldn't stand around like Bush and worry that I might get my hands dirty by saying like a wuss, "Excuse me, excuse me Sir, would you stop doing that PLEASE, pretty PLEASE?"

I'm tired of these wimps and libs allowing bullies to run amok like Hitler did before we finally got up our nerve to do something. Remember, we weren't going to "get involved" when Hiltler was rolling across Europe until Japan jumped us! Let's not repeat history or be too stupid to remember its lessons!

  3. Georgian president. While many Georgians would like to have South Ossetia under their control:

    1) Most Georgians would not start a war over it.

    2) No Georgian would start a war over it with Russia.

However they had no choice. Do you know that if Georgian citizen refuses to serve in Georgian military, the penalty is 10!! year imprisonment?

Accordingly, I don't blame Georgians, I don't blame Russians and I certainly don't blame Osetians (the victims)

The responsibility for the conflict is on Georgian president who placed his ambitions above the good of his own people.

  4. Georgia bombed its own city killing thousands of its own civilans and russian citizens as well as russian peace keeping troops. Why wouldn't Russia respond? When has it became okay to bomb your own city? sounds like genocide to me a little bit...

  5. Personally, I blame the US for egging the Georgian military into this mess. Dont know what they hoped to accomplish, probably just seeing how Russia would react to aggression against an ally, maybe in preparation for an attack on Iran. Well, I guess they can plainly see that Russia will not stand idly by while their allies are slaughtered. Good luck with your Iranian attack, Israel.

  6. i don't think it matters who's fault is it what is done is done and everything that matters right now is to stop the war. the war has killed thousands of women and kids in such a little time. innocent people i think they both have to let go of anything that they have against each other i truly live in fear from that war last night i really had a horrible dream about it i mean do you guys think we have time to blame things on each other

you may think that it doesn't matter if they died because you didn't knew them and it has affected you but have you thought about like really thought bout it what if it your family that were killed unfairly if this war goes biiger then we would have ww3 and then people you knew would be going to war

im really scared for all of this im terrified i wish i could get out of the United States and go as far as i can go but everywhere i think about theres always a conflict

instead of asking who to blame i think you should ask how to solve it and just ask people what they think about it so they can let it out

  7. If I was a liberal I would blame Bush. Everything is Bush's fault.

  8. Georgia.  They should have just let it go.  They were too small to take on Russia.  On the other hand, let the people of Ossentia vote if they want to be Russians or Georgians.

  9. george bush.

  10. Personally I don't think there's enough factual information coming out of there. Nothing anyone says has any proof to it. As an American, I would say both countries could be capable of ethnic cleansing or allowing it to happen under their noses. Until we get the facts, I would be very careful in pinning the blame on one side.

It's easy for people to get overwhelmed with information and then believe it to be fact. I still feel like there's more to this than what we see.

One more thought, Putin is obviously pulling the strings here for the Russian effort. He's a very smart and dangerous individual who served many years in the KGB. The KGB had no limits to how they dealt out death and persecution in the soviet era. He knows how to manipulate the public and he's good at it. That's been his job for most of his life. Then again, Georgia was part of Russia for 200 years. Some of the soviet era ideologies still reside there.

I know for a fact that I don't trust Putin on anything he says. I'm still trying to figure out where Georgia's true ideals lie.

  11. Georgia was wrong to launch an offensive to regain control of South Ossetia.

Why ?  Because the conflict there had been frozen for many years. There was a peacekeeping partnership in place with Russia involving soldiers and monitors from both countries.

Suddenly and without consultation with Russia the Israeli trained and equipped and American backed Georgian Army went on the offensive without warning.

You poke a bear with a stick.....................!

Btw I'm from the U K ,if that's at all relevant.
