Poll shows Toronto Blue Jays will finish top in AL East – MLB Update
A latest survey in the American League East is suggesting that Toronto Blue Jays will be playing their best season.
This particular survey was conducted after Blue Jays acquired some of the very best players from the Miami Marlins.
Both teams completed a blockbuster trade which surprised many. Mark Buehrle and Jose Reyes are top players who made their way into Blue Jays.
“This transaction, involving established major leaguers and highly regarded young players and prospects, represents the exercise of plausible baseball judgment on the part of both clubs (and) does not violate any express rule of Major League Baseball and does not otherwise warrant the exercise of any of my powers to prevent its completion," baseball commissioner Bud Selig said in a statement as he explained about the trade which is considered one of the most coveted deals in the Major League.
He added with more explanation, "It is, of course, up to the clubs involved to make the case to their respective fans that this transaction makes sense and enhances the competitive position of each, now or in the future."
Along with Mark Buehrle and Jose Reyes, the Miami Marlins sent catcher John Buck and Josh Johnson.
On other hand, the Marlins received infielders Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria, pitchers Henderson Alvarez, Anthony DeSclafani and Justin Nicolino, catcher Jeff Mathis and outfielder Jake Marisnick.
All these factors were judged and later revealed that Blue Jays’ roster is now much stronger and will be giving a tough time to their opponents.
Last season, the Toronto Blue Jays finished fourth in the American League East. They just performed better than Boston Red Sox and won 73 games and lost 89 games.
Toronto Blue Jays finished with .451 winning percentage but overall their performance remained inconsistent and they could not play their natural game.
Experts believe that Blue Jays certainly did well with the recent trade. Mark Buehrle, Jose Reyes and Josh Johnson are very talented and as they will be playing in the team next season, the Toronto Blue Jays might play against some of the best teams in the World Series.
