  1. Joint if your in laws are nice and don't make you do tonnes of housework. But privacy would be an issue

  2. unless grandparents are of old age and need care I declare my Independence. In my culture that is how it is anyways, you get married you get your own house and start your own family unless your parents or his parents are of old age, even then the oldest of the family or whoever can take care of them takes that extra responsibility.

My family lived with me for 3 months and it was like h**l,lolz I love havin a quiet house kids in bed and time for me to relax before I sleep but with my brothesr ugh,,it was a 24/h tv and computer...till we found them their own house few miles away!loolz

  3. Well right now i live in a nucleur family and very happy with it, but i've always liked the thought of a joint family lyk my friends they have a very huge family with some of their sister-in laws and i think its kul, i wud love to have some friendly sister kind of company around me when i get married and also if i have a really nice mother-in law lyk some do then i wud like to be around her.

  4. OMG , Nuclear independent family , Joint family would cause only troubles.

  5. Joint families absolutely.

There are all mahram for each other (mostly) and you have a HUGE support network.  Of course the house should be big enough to accomodate people's non-mahram privacy.

PS Pinky is RIDICULOUS. People are social in nature, by God's will, and to pretend like anyone can truly be independent is laughable! Wait until she has kids!

  6. Yes I am married and have a teenage son and I prefer Nuclear family.  I love my family members, but I don't want to live with them.  However, my niece, her husband and new baby live with my sister and she prefers it that way.  She didn't like it so much though until the baby arrived so I think her choice is due to loving him so much that she wants him around and also knowing that my niece knows absolutely nothing about caring for a baby.

  7. LOl Pakistan's usually stay in a joint family! However when I get married I would not mind, it all depends on the situatation if the family we were living with needed us.

    Not married

  13. Independence, self-reliance, these are most important in life, in my opinion.

    ---

@I Said It! - I have stated nothing "ridiculous".  Self-reliance and independence ARE important, nay vital parts of life.  What would you do if your entire family were to suddenly perish?  You will be left alone and be unable to cope or care for yourself if you have not prepared/trained yourself to be independent and self-reliant.  I also did not refute the social nature of the human animal- I actually did not say anything about that at all.

Furthermore, who are you to say "wait till she has kids"?  You do not know that I will have kids and ghaib (knowledge of unseen) is with Allah alone.  You have absolutely no right to insinuate anything that will or will not happen in my life.  For your information (not that it is ANY of YOUR business) I actually have made the personal decision to NOT have any children in life.

Allah gave you a mind with the ability to reason and use logic.  Why not attempt it for the first time in your life?  You do NOT need to agree with me but open your eyes and try to understand reality for once.

  14. Well both have their good & bad sides & it really depends on the individual how they want to adjust with it. problems never end in life It is how we take things & not make fusses over silly small things or appreciate others 4 wat they also contribute.
