Pollution in bejing are we being over melodramatic?

You can't tell me that the pollution in san fransisco is any better. And should the cyclicest that wore masks that stired up all the controvresy at the bejing airport appoligize

What everyone is forgetting is that this has happened in every country when they have moved on technologically, take London in the early 1900s for example

It doesn't matter what the pollution in San Francisco is like since the Olympics is not being held there, the pollution in Bejing is many times worse than what the World Health Organization reccommends.

No, the pollution in Beijing is among the worst in the world... and certainly exceeds anything we have in the States. As far as the cyclist wearing masks when you are working out hard... sucking in all that c**p physically HURTS, not to mention the long term effects. Heck, the Chinese themselves wear masks on the REALLY bad days there, so why shouldn't anyone else?

Yes they are being over melodramatic.I am no fan of Chinese government but western athletes are making too much noises.If you ask athletes from smaller countries like Pakistan they are saying that here environment is good compared to their cities.If sportsperson are unable to play in pollution,the only place left where there is no pollution Is Antartica.

They are not wrong on their part and they are feeling sorry for masks worn that hurt Chinese people but they are saying that they didn't wear masks as some kind of protest.It is better to leave matter alone and concentrate on biggest sporting specatcle.

There was no hard feeling. They merely tested their equipment, unless there is some kind of chemical capable to boot up their performance.

Every city in the world has pollution.  Beijing may be worse, but not that much.  Why have Olympics in the hottest month of the year?  Why not October?
