Pollution in seawater?

while at skegness the sea was a horrible brown colour, was this pollution?

depends on the sea some are green some are blue some clear some brown depending on if its by trees, algey , its depth etc

Haven't a clue, if it has been raining heavily inland lately and theres a river into the sea close by it may just be land run off (silt).

its not pollution, off skegg its a very rough sea bed but the couloring comes from the river humber which is a very muddy estuary and one of the strongest currents in the world.
