Question:

Polo wraps?

On the front feet, the polos are supposed to be wrapped counterclockwise on the left leg and clockwise on the right. Is it the same or opposite on the back legs? I've only ever used them on the front feet. Thanks

  1. yes, it should be the same. the only difference from the forelegs to the hind is that on the hind, you wrap just a bit farther up to compensate for the longer cannon.

  2. i have never heard of the clockwise/counterclockwise thing i wrap clockwise on each leg....

  3. Youtube has videos on wrapping legs just do a search. I Tried to link one and its not working, sorry . Its the same for fronts as backs.

be careful you need experience in wrapping legs and you can cause lots of problems if you do it incorrectly.

I just use SMB boots by professionals choice its easier and safer.

  4. its the same on front and back legs but using polo wraps without professional experience can cause more harm to your horse than good if you make a mistake, ask a porfessional or just use boots.

  5. Yes, you're right.  Be sure when you wrap that your tightening is at the front of the leg, with no pull as you wrap over the tendons at the back of the leg...I pull across the front, then use my fingertips to secure it while I wrap without pull over the back of the leg.
