We reside in Dublin, Ireland. We bought a Polti Vaperetto 2400 about 5 years ago. We only use it occasinally. C'mas time last year we switched on the Machine The red light of the On-Off switch came on, then we switched on the other switch which operates the boiler /steamer, the red light of this switch came on intermittently, then it stopped coming on all together. We contacted the shop in Dublin, we bought it from . They said they do not sell that product any more and gave the contact no. of an agent. This Company said they do not deal with the product any more and gave contact details of another company. This company sid they do not provide a repair service, only order parts for the machine from a UK company. We then contacted the the UK company. They said they would charge £100 to get the machine over to UK to assess the problem, alternatively they offerd us a discount on a newer model of the Polti Vaporetto. We did not want to go along with any of these options, for obvious reasons. Could you please tell us how do I go about repairing our machine. First thing came to my mind was borrow an AVO meter and check the switch., then may be, if it is faulty to order a new switch and get it connected loacally, if it needs soldering. Is there any other reason that this particular switch does not come-on. Since this machine has a boiler incorporated in it's design I do not want to take it apart. We would appreciate very much if you could help us to solve this long standing problem.
