  1. Go with the polycarb, i would never reccomend the CR39. and as for the 1.67 high index, whoever reccomended that is just trying to rip u off. ur prescription is so low, the 1.67 is for ppl who have -6 and lower... polycarbs are great lenses, and if ur 18 and under and u go buy them from sams club the lenses are both $30!!!

  2. polycarbonate and cr39 will be pretty much the same thickness.

polycarb is what they use for safety specs, it can with stand huge impact and rather than cracking and smashing into sharp pointy pieces of plastic it'll break into blunt cubes which wont damage the eye. i remember my lecturer telling me that it can with stand a ball bearing hitting it at over 60mph. However - it scratches SO easily you really do only have to breath on it before it'll scratch. In practice i only ever recommend it to clumsy children and people who need safety specs.

A 1.67 index lense for your prescription is FAR too thin a lens for you. You do have a slightly higher prescription in your right eye so i'd suggest if your going for a rimless or supra (half rimless) frame that you should have a 1.6 lense it's usually a bit more expensive but not much more ive found from experience. However if you are going for a full metal or plastic frame a cr-39 will be fine - but really do have the AR (anti-reflective) coating on it. its hugely underrated and is well worth the extra cost.

    hope that helps!

  3. Polycarbonate and CR-39 will be about the same thickness. The poly will be more expensive and a little lighter, and a lot harder, like bullet proof.
