Polygamy raid - why the same names? Barlow / Jessop / Jeffs?

I have been following this story in the news for a while now since it started and I find it odd that they deny that they practise polygamy but when asked when they got married (the women) the change the subject and also refuse to tell their last names. But out of those who do say their last name its jessop or jeffs or barlow - how is it that so many people living in one community / compound or ranch as they call it, can have the same last names but they say they don't share husbands and most are apparently not related.

  1. Apparently the FLDS authorizes taqqiya like the Shia.

That is, a lie is justified if it is necessary to keep you out of trouble or achieve your good ends.

You notice, that there are hardly any adolescent boys?  Most of them are expelled so there will be enough wives for the rest.  Imagine what it must be like to be expelled from the community, when you've always been told that the outside world is evil and there is no chance of heaven outside the FLDS community, and you have no idea how things are done in the outside world and don't trust anybody because of what you've been told.

  2. These folks have no compunction against lying to further their outrageous religious practices. They practice polygamy and incest. Even their own CULT disowns them.

  3. they are a breakoff of the mormon church and practice polygmany which is nasty and wrong they are a cult and get brainwashed and treat their little boys real bad they need help im lds and if our church ever went back to that i would quit

  4. because they are lying to protect their husbands and children.  I think its terribly wrong. Isnt lying suppossed to be against their religion?  I feel sorry for the kids.

  5. I agree with the dude who mentioned the fumarase deficiency, its a well known phenomenon amongst that crazy bunch in texas, I refer you to this link for more info:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fumarase_de...

Fumarase deficiency is extremely rare. Until roughly 18 years ago scientists knew of only thirteen cases worldwide . However, recently twenty additional cases have been documented in the Arizona/Utah border towns of Colorado City, Arizona, and Hildale, Utah[9] These two towns constitute a closed and controlled community, and were settled in the 1930s by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which is a breakaway sect now unaffiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, many of the surrounding communities refer to this disease as "Polygamist's Down's"

That's right, 13 cases WORLDWIDE, then they found 20 cases in those fundamentalist church of latter day saints controlled towns...

And to think people dont believe in Evolution lol.

  6. They actually are that inbred.  Almost all of them trace back to 2 men, so the genes are all the same as well as the names.

A lot of the babies are born with fumarose, a genetic disorder.

Looking at the bishop's records, some women have ALL the names as middle names. Those are the women whose husbands were expelled, so they were reassigned to other men. Apparently, some were reassigned multiple times. That is one reason that the children can't name their fathers.
