Polyurthane question

I shadow striped the nursery in my home. I painted it with a flat paint, taped off stripes then poly'ed every other stripe. When my husband put the poly on, some of it dripped and some of the poly is darker than the other. I need to sand down the poly and apply another coat. What grade of sandpaper should I use and when I apply another coat will it blend with the parts that appear darker?

  1. I would use a light paper something around 120 grit of higher. Not sure about the dark spots unless they are in your floor before you started. Try sanding and then be very careful when you put the new coat of poly on.
