  1. well first you would have to dig a big hole and then if you call someone it would possibly $100 to $250.

  2. There are commercial ponds for backyard. For turtles, is a problem. Impossible not to have predators around them. You have to  protect them,  like enclosing them with screen wire.

  3. You can find pre-formed pond liners (hard shelled) at pond supply stores, or some garden centers.  They run $60-$300 depending on size.

You can also buy flexible pond liner, and make whatever shape you like.  They most often come in 10,15, and 20 foot wide.  And run $1.30, give or take, per square foot.

Flexible liners I find easier to install, as you don't have to be nearly as exact when you dig your hole.

I've also heard of large excavated ponds that just use the natural substraight, or added clay, pounded.  You'd need land that has good run-off to that spot, to keep it filled.

I've also seen smaller ponds with poured concrete lining.

I recommend going to a library, and checking out a bunchof books on creating ponds, and doing a little browsing.
