Is there a way to make the passenger door on a 2006 Pontiac G6 automatically unlock after the car is shut off? My driver’s side door unlocks to let me out but my passenger must manually unlock the door in order to open it. I’ve looked for a child lock switch all over the vehicle but couldn’t find one. I don’t have an owner’s manual or I’d look there for answers first.

  1. It should unlock while the car is off since its still running off the battery, only thing doesn't are electric windows.

Same reason when you open a car with a key fob it unlocks the doors.

The passenger side doesnt for safty reasons.

That way if your say at night in city you cant have someone get in the passenger side while your getting in drivers side to steal your car.

    Try hitting unlock twice.

  2. Go to www.gmownercenter.yahoo.com.  Sign in with your Yahoo ID and enter in your car's info.  That gives you access to an online version of your owners manual which will tell you how to change the automatic unlock setting for your car.
