  1. i would go with pontiac since its the same make as chevy and most of saturn cars are failure have to invest alot of money in them in order to repair damage auto parts

  2. both pieces of c**p

  3. They are the same vehicle mechanically.  The difference is in their aesthetics (looks).  GM builds its vehicles on the same platform and then differentiates them by styling cues and options.  An example is that the Pontiac G5 is the same as a Chevy Cobalt just with slightly different styling.  The decision  for you is more on of styling and interior comfort because mechanically they are the same with same warranty and such.  Good luck.

  4. They are based on the same platform (as is the Chevy Malibu), but the Saturn is somewhat newer in design, and has gotten better reviews. That said - the Malibu has gotten even better reviews.

Performance/mileage should be about the same for all three, if same engine choice is made.

  5. Go with the Pontiac.

I wanted a Saturn and my dad said not to get one because the parts for them are extremely expensive and they need maintenance more often than other cars.

Pontiac's last a long time and they're all pretty good on gas. As for performance the saturn will be better for the first year or two but after that it won't be so great.

Saturn's seem cooler but Pontiac's are the better choice.

  6. it's the same car with different skin on it.  they are built in the same GM plant off of the same GM platform... decide whic one you think looks better and buy it.  they'll perform the same, get teh same mileage and have the same reliabitily.

  7. You should seriously consider some different options.

Although the Saturn XE is recommended by Consumer Reports (XR has poor reliability), there are still cars that performed better in that class.

In Independent testing, the G6 is one of the lowest scoring sedan's in its class (only the Chrysler Sebring was worse).

If you must buy American, check out the Chevy Malibu or Ford Fusion.

Otherwise, look at the Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry or Hyundai Sonata.

Even the Kia Optima is a better vehicle than the G6.
