Ponting complains about bad scheduling
First it was Michael Hussey and now it is Ricky Ponting who has panned the thoughtless scheduling of cricketing calendar. While Hussey had said that he wanted to leave the Champions League T20 earlier than its actual end to be able to prepare better, captain
Ponting said on Friday that there were lessons to be taken for both India and Australia from the scheduling.

Hussey’s lack preparations meant that he had just couple of days to practice before the start of the first Test match. This was followed by Doug Bollinger who was also a part of the Champions League T20 to fall prey to injury due to an abdominal strain. This
has pegged the Aussies back and not only are they trailing 0-1 in the series, but they are also a bowler short for the second game.

Ponting minced no words in his press conference and said, "It [the schedule] was definitely hard on Doug, and Mike Hussey, and even http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 for that matter. I think you could see from his [Dhoni's] performance in the last game that he'd been feeling the pinch
a little bit as well.” Dhoni had dropped two catches, missed one stumping and fumbled a lot behind the stumps.

He added, “There are a lot of good lessons that can be learnt from the last week as far as our preparation goes, and probably even for the Indian players. All we can do is try and get our case across, and I know the individual players concerned have certainly
done that.”

There are multiple problems that the cricketers are facing and much had been to do with the excess of T20 cricket. However, in this case, the Champions League T20 had already been planned well in advance, but it was the eleventh hour change in the touring plans
that seem to have affected the disgruntled Australian lot. Earlier, the Aussies were to play only seven ODIs and no Test matches on this tour but after there were complaints of lack of Test cricket despite India being the number one team, the Indian cricket
board changed the schedule, chopped off four ODIs and added a couple of Tests.

Ponting also suggested that the workload was much more for the quicker men and it did make it difficult for them to recover from niggles due to these crammed schedules. Ponting said, "It is hard work for the bowlers, there is no doubt about that, when you have
back-to-back games."
