Ponting is on 147 in the match v W.I. Does this mean that his horror patch is over? What do you think?

  1. Dear Madam Bingalee

I see, I havent been following the scores.Looks like a good tour, (WI has a moderately decent attack), to get back in form.

    Rehman of Multan

  2. Great innings, Punters back in the format he loves. His 35th test hundred, one more than Gavaskar and only the gnome ahead of him now on 39. Could be on top by end of series.

  3. Out on 158. What a great innings, 17 fours and a 6 and a strike rate over 70 to record his 35th test century. If he can make innings like this over the series then I'd say he was back in form. This is certainly a start!

Like I said great innings. But what a catch from Parchement to dismiss him.

  4. What a great start to this series for our captain...

Ricky really played well,he looked more relawed at the crease today than i have seen him in a while..I have to say is was teriffic sitting there at 8:15 this morning seeing him raise his bat for his 150*...

And congrats to Vic Brad Hodge for getting 50* also...

Yes i do think this may mean his horror run is over(thank god)....

It did him good to go and get his match practise in the IPL,too bad(cough cough) he did'nt perform as well over there.....

  5. yea alwayse knew he would

hard to keep a good man down

  6. yeah i feel that and also he looks same as before very positive in every shot

i love to like hime batting like this.

  7. It's a good innings but i think that to get past his 'horror patch' he needs to perform consitantly over a few innings, but he's definately on the road back to great form, it will be interesting to watch and see how he goes, i'm sure he'll be fine now though with the new confidence he can gather from his century

  8. It appears that his lean patch is over and he has regained his lost form.

  9. well i have said for a while now that T20 form means NOTHING to test cricket form, looks like a certain Australian captain just proved me right didnt he!

"Ponting should give up the captaincy, Ponting should retire, Pontings past it, Pontings had enough" how many times did we see that on here in the last couple of months, i guess that means there a lot of humble pie to be eaten now!

it only takes one good shot to bring back good form, and i do believe he hit a few more than one good one! "form is temporary, class is permanent, and Ponting is a class batsman (you dont make 35 test hundreds if your not!)"

and to everyone that wrote him off, i think he's just given you a message, "Choke on That!!"

  10. I reckon it'll quiten all those anti Ponting people & get them frightened again. Like Arnie says 'i'll be back'. And Punter is back.

  11. Looks like Punter's back. I would recommend he cashes in against this fairly innocuous looking attack during this series. 400+ runs should be his target for the series as a bare minimum. He needs to stamp his authority at the top of the order once more.

Can't keep a good man down! Form is temporary, class is permanent.

  12. No Ponting requires a break badly he is jaded and faded.  Let him not try too much too soon.  Look at Sachin how he takes a break and then polishes himself
