Pony Club Help?

Are you allowed to wear stock saddles at pony club or does everything have to be english saddle and bridles?

generally english gear is ridden in at pony club however-yes stock saddles are permitted, western are not, certain comps may not though. girth has to be min two points, string is fine but not generally recommended. your instructor would have to check your irons etc to permit these. bridles are generally fine but do need to be checked as well to be permited - there is so many ways to make bridles these days! most bits are fine - note: need to be the same metal all the way through except rings.

if you are currently doing pc - bring other tack if poss that way you can change into that and you wont miss out. or if you are planning to enrol bring the gear along with you and the instructor should be more than happy to give it the once over -that way you can get anything you need to between the next rally day.

if you can get your hands on the current green riding manual or pc handbook the rules are all stated in there!

if in doubt of anything speak to the cheif instructor! no question is dumb!

I saw some people at our local show, riding in stock saddles, for the pony club games, so i would say as long as it's in good condition, YAY are you joining a pony club now YAY

You can use stock saddles as long as you have two girth points. No western saddles are allowed. Western saddle has a horn. Half breeds are also allowed as long as they have two girth points too.and safted stirrups. QLD rules only.

umm i have never thought about this?mmmm, well at my pony club i just have a "normal" saddle in other words not a stock saddle. But it is different at  different club's. Some I'm sure do but other I'm sure don't. Good luck but why do you want to wear a stock saddle? not that there is anything wrong with that. have you thought about asking the club leaders (officials) because non of us can give you a deffenet answer! good luck! xo

As long as it is clean and in good condition you can use any saddle you want it is that most people who do pony club are hackers so the use English saddles.

Rules differ from club to club - so go to the website of your local club and look at their rules or ring them up.
