  1. Try Bowl-illiards. What you do is rack up 10 balls and break them up. They take ball in hand behind the headstring or leave it where it lies and shoot until you miss. After you miss, that's the end of the turn. Then you take one more turn to try and clear off the table.

You score the game just like bowling, with all of the balls made on the break and first turn combined as your first "roll", and the balls you make on your second turn as your second "roll." If you clear them all off on your first turn it's a strike, and if you clear them completely in 2 turns it's a spare. You play 10 racks, just like a game of bowling.

  2. - You can play "straight pool" which means after you break shoot the best shot available (solid or strip). Continue until you sink the 8

    - You can play can with regular rules and alternate between solids and stripes but by yourself.

    - you can sink the balls in numeral order

    - You can play nine ball by yourself

    - Or you can set up the toughest shots for you, and try to make them.

Whatever it is have fun, Pool is a great game! :)

  3. What I often do is set a ball up in each corner pocket, then set a ball up on the rail on the middle diamond of each rail (froze to the rail), and then set up a ball in the middle of the table (between the two center pockets) and then a ball in the center of each half of the table. The overall result is a symmetrical setup with all 15 balls on the table. Take ball in hand and try to run the table with as few misses as possible. This is great practice for alot of things such as positioning (english, shot strength, the whole nine yards), rail shots (as there are 6 balls froze to the rail), break outs to some extent (breaking the rail balls out for an easier shot), and other things. Enjoy!

  4. If you are talking about real life pool and not online pool what I do is just rack the balls and try and get as many in the pocket in a row as I can.  You can play 9 ball by yourself and it is great practice since you have to shoot the 1 to 9 ball in order.  It is terrific practice on learning to shoot the ball and leave the cue ball in a good spot for the next shot.

  5. For practice what I like to do aside from some of the things already mentioned, is, play a 15 ball rotation, like chicago, but no need to keep score, think of it like 9 ball with 15 balls (all those extra balls can be a real pain in the rear).  Sometimes when doing that I'll practice safety shots, and then getting out from it.

Also, I like to get on a Carom Billiard table for practice, this is an absolutely fantastic way to work on your banks and combo, 3 balls no pockets.  Hit a ball, hit a rail, hit the other ball.  the fact that your target keeps moving around the table helps you work with all kinds of angles.

And then there's 3 ball.  Just rack up 3 balls at the foot, break, and count the number of shots it takes to clear the table.  each stroke counts as 1, including the break, so for example you break sink 1, make the next shot, and the following shot, you have a score of 3.  If you can score 4 or less (assuming nothing on the break) 5 straight times, you're definitely doing something right.  If you want to challenge yourself a little more, play them as rotation, 1,2,3 balls, and drop them in numerical sequence.

Then there are always drills, not always fun, but if you look at it as a challenge against yourself, they can be.

Keep racking em and have fun.

  6. I agree with this first person who answered. Get a Wii and get a game for it that is pool.

  7. Buy Wii Play. It also has cow racing, table tennis, a version of duck hunt (using targets)...Oh! It comes with an extra remote too.
