Pool VS Lake?

So my mom wants to get a pool instead of buying a new boat cuz our is broken. They are about the same price. I think we should buy a boat because theres more to do even tho we don't live near a lake. A pool there is nothing to do. Which one do you guys think we should get.... give your reasons (im trying to convince her to get a boat)

Pools suck.  They need daily maintenance and make you smell like bleach.  The chlorine will burn your eyes and dry your skin.  When I was a kid we had a pool.  I will never have one again.  If I buy a house with a pool,  I will make the seller remove it as a sale condition.
