  1. Are you back washing the pool filter???

You should backwash for 2 min.  Then rinse for 1 minute.  Then backwash again and rinse again.  THEN ADD Earth

  2. Lady E is correct on the ph.  Take a sample of your water to a pool supply store for a free water analysis.  They can tell you what to add that will correct the ph.  Chlorine alone won't get rid of algea in quantities that you can stand.  There are several products on the market (PhosFree and NoPhos are two) that will get rid of algea.  These products eliminate the phosphates in the water that the algea feed on, hence, no more algea.  Once you eliminate the original problem, one capful of either per 8,000 gallons, once a week, will keep your pool free of the nasty stuff.

  3. Sometimes the water can turn green because of a ph imbalance.  Take a sample of the pool water to a pool store and they will test it for you and tell you exactly what you need to get your pool clear again.
