Why do people refer to any 2 pc cue as a custom??

A custom is made to your specs not 1 of 2000 that are the same thing 1 out of 200 players do not have a custom cue made for them

But they all say they have a custom cue

Just wondering Later Johnny

  1. I have never heard someone do that unless it really was a custom cue.

  2. WOW Johnny, you're full of questions today and good ones at that. You're right here in that a "custom" cue is manufactured to a persons specifications.

Unfortunately for the less learned, that does NOT mean a cue with an autograph on the butt or some decals under the clear finish. Per your question, I don't even know anybody in my pool world that has a custom cue. So why would someone say they have a "custom" cue? It's simply because they just don't know any better.

I hope all is well with you!

  3. Bragging rights, Johnny. Pure and simple.

  4. we called it a break-down.  A custom was just that, not purchasable in a store.

  5. dont get a custom unless youre a good player

waste of money for a begginner

  6. I do NOT know why anyone would refer to their 2-piece cue as a "custom cue", unless it IS a custom cue. Even then ---it's silly to even mention the "C" word, unless you are talking pool cues or selling your pool cue ---and even then, it means nothing. I have a custom cue, and I've NEVER referred to it as my "custom cue" .....bah!!!

I have NEVER referred to ANY of my two-piece cues as "custom" cues. I don't ever remember even calling them "two-piece" cues. I just call 'em: my pool cues, ie. My Meucci -aka: "my baby" (which IS a custom cue -made to my specs, and I've NEVER called it 'my custom cue'), my Mali, my "crappy Scorpion" (quote-unquote), my "Duff'' (old Dufferin cue), my cues, or my sticks. That's it!

I always call house sticks: "Bar lumber". Have you ever heard that term? ..HA!

  7. People are stupid and want to seem like great players. They are just bragging.

  8. They're usually replicas of customs that the pros use.  Like a signature series cue at a shop would be called a custom even if 20,000 of them are made.  If it's not a pro replica then its custom compared to the house sticks.

  9. Just an old custom that is hard to break...some "custom-ers" asked for a custom cue..and I guess this was taken to mean one that is not a house cue...like me that  paid my $200 for my "custom" Predator instead of paying 1200+ for a truly "customed" cue....that "customarily" the  buyer can't shoot with it because they were not "a-customed" to shooting with such an expensive cue.....just an old term that players are "ac-customed" to using....no big thing!
