I have never seen so many thumbs down on answers-When most were right-What do you think the diff is????Except most Snooker cues are a fraction of the cost of a pool cue

  1. The major diffence between the two is evident in the size of the tip...a snooker cue will generally have a tip in the 9-10mm range whereas  a pool cues tip is 11-12 mm or bigger!(This has to do with the size and weight of the balls as snooker balls are much lighter than pool balls) . The weight is also different. You'll find snooker cues in the 16-19oz range as opposed to pool cues which are quite a bit heavier...sometimes up to 20-22oz..but it all depends really on the user as he has to use it...my snooker has a 9mm tip and weighs in at 17oz. Hope this helps!

  2. Never really played much snooker and never thought about the difference......my bet is that there is some sort of slight difference.....excuse the ignorance of the game...but the balls and cue ball are smaller...would make sense to me that there would be a slight difference in the shaft/tip.......but really do not have any idea......you would not (although you could) use a hard ball glove in softball.....so makes sense that there must be some consideration for some sort of adjustment.....which makes me think of a "bar table" question.....will put it on in just a bit!

  3. To be quiet honest with you Johnny I have devoted myself to three main pool games, 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and Straight Pool with an occasional 3-Ball game. I'll be watching this one closely because I smell new knowledge brewing.

  4. From what I saw, the reason I believe, that the thumbs, were given was due to differences in answers. I did not participate in the question, beause I didn't know the exact length

difference. I did read some of the answers, and as  I recall,

you stated that snooker pools were a few centimeers longer, if I'm not mistaken, some guys answers, were 5-6 inches difference.

One inch is equal to over 2 centimeters,  I also noticed, there were people that I had not seen before answering.

Europians, think in centimeters, and Americans use inches, so if someone had thought, for instance that you were wrong, that's why the thumbs down I believe.

Right now, in Mathematics, I have answered a Question, and My answer is different than all the others, and I got a thumbs down because I answered different, but I believe I am right, against about ten answers, that have the same answer, that a rectangle the way they figured it, has the length, shorter than the width. or width longer than length, which is impossible in math.  I am waiting to see what happens.

This will be the first time in history, that a rectangle has the length shorter than the width.

It's like saying, a pool table, is 8ft wide, and 4ft long..

Is that good for a laugh or what??.

I don't think ,that when most of the regulars participate, you hardly see any thumbs down.

How  and why did you get deleted, because I wasn't in it, and I did not follow it..or know who got best answer.

Sorry I spaced in between, but you will make it out..

  5. Well, if you read my answer you'd see there is quite a significant difference between pool cues and snooker cues. Almost everyone who posted said that snooker cues were longer and pretty much the same as pool cues, which is actually the exact opposite of reality. Most people are not cue connoisseurs so I do not expect them to know what's right, but I'm still going to give everyone who posts an incorrect answer a thumbs down.
