  1. The best thing to do  when playing alone is to practice ,  there are so many different thing to the game , practice  prositioning ,bank shot , short and long rail ,,cutting frozen balls on rail ,  whatever you feel is your weakness practice and practice some more ,you will be surprised at how much you can learn and then how easy all the games become , remember the best time on the table is practice time ,, then watch the faces of your opponents as you kick there buts.. when you practice try all kinds of thing using  high follow  ,draw and left and right english ,practice make prefect...

  2. ill set up shots that i have had a problem with or seen someone else do that i want to make sure i can do well and shot it over and over again.  ill also play 9 ball by myself until i get to a diffucults shot that i want to practice.  never been one to practice my breaks maybe i will this sat. sounds like wouldnt be that bad of idea.  also do play where everything has to be a combo or a bank.  helps a lot when u go back to playing normal.

  3. One pocket is usually 2 player but you can still try putting all the balls in one pre determined pocket.

  4. Any Game you can think of its just practice anyway

I play 9 ball so I practice 9 ball there is always a shot I want to practice Sometimes I will just break the balls 20 or 30 times

There are dozens of drills you can do but I hardly ever see all 9 balls line up in a row

  5. 9-ball, golf, rotation, cowboy and carom billiards all come to mind.  Trying to have the longest run possible in carom billiards, the longest run of racks/balls in 9-ball, or trying to finish in the fewest number of shots in golf, rotation or cowboy.

  6. line the balls up about an inch apart in the middle of the table from one end to the other and pick a startin point then try sink all the balls ...

its better played on snooker table so if you s***w up you can start again free unless you own a pool table or you can get the balls you for free

  7. Practicing "straight" pool will get you so far. Advance the drill by "banking" every other shot or every third shot.

One drill I practice is front & backward rotation.

After the balls are broken, I begin with the '1' ball or the '15' ball. Then go to the next in line. If I shoot in the '1' ball, then it's the '2' or the '15'. With 15-balls on the table you have two balls to pull shape for. But don't think it's a cake walk. There's a lot of traffic to go through. My game improved to the point my confidence for running a rack of 9-ball became easier.

Given enough time your game will improve also.

    Good luck.
