well u would have to be good at pool before u start gambling or u would go broke b/c u would always lose, so probably a poolplayer that gambles

I play my game....now if someone wants to be stupid enough and decides to attempt a win cuz a lady is playing....h**l, by all means, step right up.....but don't be a p*ssy and make excuses that you were shooting with the wrong stick or some other stupid s*it like that.................DreO

Wish it really was a "gambler" that plays pool.....but just a player that gambles every once in a while.....lack of money and skill!

Gambler that invest in pool. I play for money I enjoy playing for money and used to have my groceries hanging on the end of my stick.

I strongly disagree with Life Lover on the the part about "meager dollars vs love of the game" I love the game it just happened to have been my job as well.

I also loved the thrill of rasing horses but that is a business as well and the thrill is better when a horse sells for alot of money.

I'm a pool player first and I put the ability to play far beyond the reaches of a common gambler. A genuine pool player knows and appreciates the true value of the game. Knowing the nuances of your own cue stick. The sound of pleasure when the rack breaks. The intricacies of maneuvering the cue ball around the table and making it go where you want it to. The ability to make your opponent shoot a shot they don't want to shoot. The moment of pause as a ball falls into the pocket. The shear joy of running a rack. The knowledge of the game you gain with each rack. The humility you suffer with every loss. The personal achievement of beating a superior player. The character you build with every win.

Now, a gambler that just knows how to place a wager? Please! Beyond a meager couple of dollars won, what joy can they possibly know compared to playing pool?

I've probably won more at the poker table than the pool table and over a year ago I bought a bar.  I guess I'm both.  I play pool 8 days a week but I gamble on other things as well... you tell me...

I don't play money games at all, so I am a pool player. I'm not looking to generate any income from playing pool, so if I want to play with something on the line I stick to tournaments.
