We Hear and or say it quite often if you play on a snooker table then go to a 7-8-9-ft aka pool table its a lot better.Do you think we just pay more attention to our game on a snooker table because we are not familiar with it,And pool tables are second nature to us so we dont really give a shot the thought we should

I noticed my wife's game getting a little off she would just shoot without really thinking it out then we went to Bogies and got on the snooker table and i noticed right away she beared down and got into the shots i told her if she put that effort into her reg.play she would be a lot better off .musta sunk in shes been kicking a-- all week even shot me a safety from h**l last night ive created a monster!!

But just give it some thought your skill (once you have it ) doesnt change that much but your intrest might just give the same attention to a pool table that 87 degree cut just might start going in the pocket more often

Besides I just wanted to ask a question

  1. Snooker is a great teaching tool for the beginning bar player because you must shoot straight for the pocket and you must develop a smooth gentle stroke.

Take that back to the pool hall or local bar and you will come out on top more often than not and not look like a hustler.

I learned to shoot in Louisville when it was a tank town and Walter Tevis was cutting his teeth in Lexington.

  2. No doubt about it, Johnny.

If you're an avid pool player and spend most of your time playing on regular pool tables (whether bar boxes or regulation) when you step up to a snooker table, the focus is more intense, as your shots have to be perfect, as does your stroke and aim. There's just no "cheating the pockets" on a snooker table. I used to play Golf on the snooker table; not for the game itself, but more for honing my aim, stroke, and cue control.

Go get 'em, "Mrs. Johnny" !!!

  3. i started my cueing on snooker tables.

i find pool a doddle tbh because i started on snooker

  4. well i would say stay away from the snooker table

  5. maybe, you have to be alot more accurate on a snooker table though as the pockets are smaller than that of a pool table, i think it is good practise playing snooker as shot making will be harder on a snooker table than a pool table, so certain shots will be harder on snooker and easier in pool.

  6. It sounds like your wife has finally found a table game she likes, and it sounds like you got snookered.

For me, it takes forever to adjust my banking whenever I change table sizes, regardless of how much I try to focus.

Switching from reading glasses (to see the cue ball) and then shifting to binoculars (to see the target ball) really ruins my rhythm.

Have a blast anyway, or be a good looser and let her have the thrill of victory...
