Pool question... foul involving black 8 ball?

i was playing pool when i fouled on the black ball and the ball finished in a position that it blocked my opponents ball so he couldnt hit his... what should happen? should he play the black? move to the D?

  1. If you are playing by the scottish p&d rules (which i do) the you get 2 shots on the black and youre first shot is something called a free shot which means you can hit any ball on the table on youre first shot.So i would use my free shot to hit the ball which was blocking me from the black away and get me into a better position to hit the black.


  2. You have "foul snookered" him so he can moved the cue ball anywhere behind the baulk line and shoot in any direction, if he still can't see the ball then he may move it elsewhere.  Of course he gets 2 visits.

    The black cannot be nominated as a free ball !
