Pool-related book (non-fiction)?

Not including fictional novels and biographies, what would you want to read about in a pool-related book? Do you like to read general instruction books, history of pool, specific instruction (how to bank, jump, tip a cue, the mental game, etc.)? I guess my main question is, if you walked into your local library or Barnes & Noble, what would catch your eye and make you select a particular book related to pool? With my library, it seems like the first thing I always have to ask is, do I own this one already? What is something you've never seen before but would like covered in a book? 1. I know you said you didnt want them .But Bios is what would intrest me

Both people and places. I dont mean the top 10 We all know their life story backwards by now .How about .Hillbilly-Franco-Topwater ? Thats what he calls himself-Im sure in every city there would be dozens of others that could beat the pros hands down It just would be interesting to hear about them and the rooms they play in -Like Ledgends or Bogeys in Houston  We all know every city has them

    Hey you wanted to travel!!

How many thousand Inst books are already out there ? Not exactly old hat but they are getting Frayed around the edges

  2. Instructional is mostly what I look for....would like to hear some old stories about the game and maybe read some....recall an 80 year old man telling stories about a big game match that would go on here locally between a banker and a "road" player....it would go for days....his parents had a restaurant and would have to bring them food....and the $1 tip that he would get from the road player....he described this player in his early as his early 20's.....Oscar was his name....went of into the Navy and never heard from again.....as I listened I realize that I knew an Oscar with one of the most awkward-shakey strokes that you  would think couldn't shoot a "hoot"....but put a $ in front of him and it seemed he never missed....imagine the reaction from this 80 year old man when it ended up being the guy he had not seen in some 50+ years!!!....the stories that they shared should have been written in a book.....one is gone now and I haven't seen Oscar in years!......

  3. Wouldn't mind seeing a book about pool halls. Not all of the pool halls of course, a lot of them don't make it and are gone after a year or two. Just the well known established ones. All of the geographical info and plenty of pictures would be cool. I'll probably never get to see a lot of them any other way so it would be real interesting to me. They could include a section about famous halls from the past and what players haunted what places.
