Pool rule question?

in bca league play can you use a ball from the ball return or out of the pocket to measure to check if a ball will clear between a ball on the table and the rail or another ball hope I explained my self clearly can not find answer in my rule book

  1. NO its in the rules somewhere


  2. Rule number 3.42 Devises on the BCA rule page.  You are not allowed to use a ball, triangle or other devise to see if cue ball or object ball will pass.  Good luck, and keep racken em up!

  3. Rule number 3.42 Devises on the BCA rule page prevents that.  I would take my middle 3 fingers to see if they fit.  That is usually a good measure to see if the ball will fit and it is legal.
