  1. Johnny is right. Although, if someone gave it to me, I would at least make use of it by cutting it up for the fireplace. You can find a decent used table for $500.00 to $1,000.00. You around on the web site I provided.

  2. If it had slate, that would be advertised.  Any other wording for the playflield than slate is junk.

Slate comes in three types; 3/4", 1", and 1" framed.   The number is the thickness of the slate, and thicker slate is less likely to warp over time.  Framed slate has a wood, or press board backing glued to the slate.  Framed slate is better because felt can be stapled on, instead of glue.  Also the backing adds weight to the table.

Try a place that sells entry level import tables, Namco or another place that sells pool tables and swimming pools.  Usually the price is good($750-$2000), especially now that the holiday season is coming.  For a nicer, furniture quality table, go to a store that specializes in pool tables($2000+)

Name brand tables are worth the money, but if it a gift for kids, or the occasional player save some money and go import.  There are good deals on the internet, but you still need someone to come put it together correctly. Add that cost to your "good deal", and see what it will really cost before you buy.

  3. Pure junk Bud

I would not even set it up if it was given to me.
