Why is it that these teams still do absolutely nothing to benefit their squad?

  1. The jackets have been trying to improve lately, And so did atlanta. Atlanta made the playoffs with hopes of a cup- to be swept by the Rangers. Then there was a firesale due to UFAs leaving, then trading Hossa away as a future UFA...

Atlanta isn't committed to winning. They'll make some attempts, but they won't spend the cap or anywhere close to it to get good and get more fans.

Columbus is a good market that just hasn't had good luck.

  2. I thought Nash was complimented nicely by Zherdev. and Ilya had Hossa, and before that Heatley. the franchises just arent devoted to wining.

  3. whoever gets kovalchuk or nash will dominate.  it would be so good for hockey if nash signs with toronto.  poor leafs fans have been slowly tortured the past few years and i really feel bad.  espeically now with them letting sundin leave.  nash would really help bring them back from the brink.  sucks that the flyers will never have enough cap room to sign kovalchuk.     im feeling he'll be a capital, sabre, bruin, or lightning (bolt?).  just my hunch though.

  4. I think the others have it right. The Management just isn't willing to ante up.

It's kinda like our Houston Astros, McLane wants a WS ring, but won't pay what it takes to get it. He's a cheap-skate.

  5. They've got no money to buy quality help and these players are good enough to keep their teams out of the basement so no Tavares is coming. But in two years both will be UFA's don't expect them to stay. Toronto is clearing cap space for Rick even as we speak.

  6. The Thrashers added Marian Hossa and Pascual Dupuis to try. (Neither still with the team.) Alot of their problem is with the ownership of the team. They are not willing to go out and spend the money needed to put a winning team on the ice.

  7. Both teams, especially the Thrashers, have strong minor league affiliates so management is hoping they can get their young guys to come up and help them at reasonable prices.  Nash's problem isn't that the team around him is ill-suited to fit his offensive spark, it's that the team is so poorly coached he doesn't stand a chance.  If the Blue Jackets would get a coach that wasn't so obsessed with defense, and actually encourage his players to score goals they would make the playoffs.

  8. i agree with you.they are both great players who could make stuff happen for their teams , but its realy hard for them bec. they have no one else to help them.i think chicago will be a great team bec. they added brian campbell to help kane and toews.

                               GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!

  9. Gilbert Brule isn't on Columbus anymore.
