Poor after sale service

Thje firdge was bought in Oct. 2006, its handle came off last month. Registered a complaint with LG Service ( complaint no. A 1202577 ) on 12-10-2007, reminded several times. No action for first 13 days, today a mechanic came and looked at the problem . He said since the handle s***w is broken from inside, apart from the handle, the door itself needed to be replaced- The ball is back in my court and I have been asked to take up the complaint with LG service again, which I did. I am highly disillusioned by the quality of service and I regret having gone in for this product when so many other options were available.
Is there something possible to be done quickly since it is painful to keep dialling various numbers( mostly engaged ! ) provided by LG service without any one caring to solve the issue.
