Poor catching, 'silly' mistakes cost us, says Bangladesh Coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Grant-Law-c91460 - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 over five years, has blamed poor catching and some asinine blunders for Bangladesh's embrassing loss against Zimbabwe.
The batsmen fought really hard to chase the target of 250 set by Zimbabwe. However, despite a skirmishing ton by Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh lost the match by a meagre margin of five runs, conceding an irrefutable, 0-3 lead in the five-match ODI series.
Law said after the match, "I still can't get out the head the four catches we dropped today, that probably cost us."
"It would be nice to get out of Harare to erase some bad memories of our cricket here," he added.
The former leg-spinner said, while acclaiming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045, that they had better grounding before the series.
"Zimbabwe have had fantastic preparation; they played tough cricket against Australia A and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 A, leading into the series,"
He added that their preparation perhaps was not up to the mark due to the monsoon season in Bangladesh. They had played matches against their academy, which was not perhaps the perfect test ahead of Zimbabwe.
The 42-year-old Coach said that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tamim-Iqbal-c2640, who was unluckily run-out.
However, in the middle-order, the Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahmudullah-c1877 and the rookie Shuvagoto, all got off to good starts and appeared set to take Bangladesh safely home.
However, Zimbabwe produced timely breakthroughs and restricted the Bengali Tigers to 229 for the loss of five wickets. Then the visitors’ lower order stumbled and fell just five runs short, to lose the third ODI in a row.
Mushfiqur played a remarkable innings to reach his milestone, and smashed a well deserved hundred, one ball before he got out at long-on, trying to hit a six which was needed to win the match on the last ball.
Law said that you cannot censure him. He has played one of the most fantastic innings of his career. However, it is just an ignominy that a batsman who played an innings of such calibre, could not take his team safely home.
The Coach revealed that he was utterly hysterical in the dressing room. If any of his fellow batsmen did stay with him until the end then the result would be different.
