NCFA... Gaia got it right, but I had to tune in too!!

I'm thinking if we looked up NCFA in the dictionary, we'd find a picture of suzy sunshine next to Thomas Atwood. roflol.

ETA: seriously, I am totally laughing. And its rare that I really "laugh out loud" at my computer.

Ah, yes...the National Council for Adoption (formerly the National Committee for Adoption,) is a lobby that was founded to fight the Model State Adoption Act in 1978.  This act would have made changes to adoption legislation that included unsealing records.  The NCFA was founded by the Edna Gladney Home, which went to its supporters (mainly adoptive parents of the day, not first parents or adopted citizens) for funding.   It's purpose was to fight against the legislation that would open records.  Since then, the NCFA has continued its efforts to fight against equal treatment under the law for adopted citizens.
