Pop up advertisements, how do i stop them appearing.?

Question

i find the pop up flashing adverts an intrusion and very annoying, is there a way of stopping tis stuff. using BT yahoo and adverts keep popping up even when i write emails. thanks in advance for any help given

if you are using internet explorer (any version)

then don't ever again it hardly blocks any pop ups and its really slow i reccomend getting firefox 3.1 (it's the fastest web browser in the world and it blocks loads of pop ups but some still get through so get google toolbar which is fully supported with firefox 3.1 and they work together to block all pop-ups but still some get through which is very anoying the only way to stop them from coming is avoiding the websites

Go to tools, then too pop-up-blocker, click on and then switch off pop-up-blocker. Hope this helps.

Install the Google toolbar. It suppresses popups.
