I have a website, and it doesn't work on Internet Explorer 7, so I was wondering if there is a way to make a pop-up only appear on IE 7.

  1. <!--[if IE 7]>

    You are using Internet Explorer 7. Please get a real browser.

    <![endif]-->

    The above text will only appear on the page if the visitor is using IE7.

    You can also use this technique to create a custom stylesheet with overrides specific to IE7, so that the page displays correctly.

  2. IE 7 is the most popular browser by far, it would be better to get your site working with this, even if you get a popup advising people that it will not work with IE 7 what alternatives do they have, the only option would be to install another browser, you may find your site losing a lot of traffic due to this.

  3. If it is ok, could you give me the URL for your website? Have you tried viewing it on IE7 on various computers or your PC only? I'm a technical support rep and I just have a lot of time on my hands right now. I'd be glad to help out.
