West Brom manager Steve Clarke has told new signing Goran Popov to wait for his chance as the Baggies prepare for their next Premier League game against Fulham.
The Birmingham club enjoyed a flying start to the Premier League, where they managed 7 points from a possible 9. The club started off its Premier League campaign with a bang as they saw off http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at home in an astounding 3-0 score line.
Later, West Brom travelled to Tottenham where they managed a draw, scoring a last gasp equalizer in the dying minutes of the game.
Next up were Everton at home. Both sides were in fine form before this game, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 having two wins under their belt. Everton had been favourites for this game, but West Brom produced another solid home performance and saw off the visitors, scoring
2 goals and conceding none.
West Brom are third in the league, and will be looking to continue their fine run with a victory against Fulham this weekend. Losing to West Ham last week at Upton Park, Fulham will be out for blood at home against West Brom.
Manager Steve Clarke has a host of options at his disposal, but will be without midfielder Steven Reid and Jerome Thomas. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672 may be given a start up front, but there are a lot of players who Clarke has told to be patient and wait for their chance.
New signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Goran-Popov-c15165 is one such player who has been told by the manager to wait for his chance. The left back was signed from Dynamo Kiev on a season long loan, and the player is anxiously awaiting his first Premier League game.
“Goran is under no illusions,” said Clarke. “He knows he is coming in to fight for a place in the team and all the players now, after the start we’ve had, realise that they have to fight for their place in the team.
“As long as the competition is healthy then it can only be good for the club.”
“If the team is performing well and getting results then the players not in the team will be disappointed but they’re not stupid. They understand that they have to wait for their chance. And it will come because it’s a long season.”
