So we were thinking it would be funny if in the middle of the reception speeches my fiance popped my cherry. (like I would litterally have a cherry there for him to put a pin in. lol). We're not going to do it but we laughed for hours about it (cause my real cherry is LONG gone. lol). and how it would hopefully make my grandma so mad she'd leave the reception. lol just wondering if anyone else had a chuckle at this idea (or got REALLY confused by the title. hahaha)

  1. Do it if you want! A lot of people get a kick out of random even "dirty"/"childish" things at receptions, just to shake them up a little. You wouldn't want to be boring.

I know a lot of people who've done things along the lines of that...At my cousin's wedding reception, the groom was presented with a gift from his brother in front of everyone...a pair of pink, fluffy handcuffs. Everyone thought it was hilarious.

  2. My FH and I do that all the time! We make silly jokes and get ideas to freak out people but we never actually do them.  :)

  3. I think it is funny!!

I had my hubby wear a ball and chair for part of the reception (a plastic one) everyone thought it was funny and we have the pictures of him wearing it and it's still funny!

  4. hahaha it love it do it!!!

  5. That sounds like it would be in very poor taste for a wedding reception...not to mention it's not funny at all. If anyone "giggled" at it, it would be because of embarrassment, not because they thought it was funny.

p.s. - If you don't want your grandmother there, don't invite her. Your little "joke" will just make the rest of your guests uncomfortable.

  6. That is just to funny! Not many of the old foks would get it though! HAHAHAHA I had a good laugh!

  7. It's funny, I'll give you that.

If you want people to leave your wedding remembering a gaffe, then go for it. But most people want their guests (and themselves) to remember the solemnity and the importance of the occasion, not to make a sophomoric joke.

  8. you both are being silly.thats all

  9. It IS childish and silly, but in a gross, perverse way, not in a fun, entertaining way. That's definitely a moment when you would hear crickets in the background because no one would know what to say.

  10. Do they make Cherry shaped balloons?

    Yep I laughed

  11. Everyone in my family would be in hysterics, except for my mom and my sister. Oi, they are such nudges.

  12. Wow! You're getting married on my 17th anniversary!

  13. There's being silly at a wedding and then there is just being gross.

  14. It's your wedding. If you want to do that, do it. If you don't want to invite your grandmother, don't invite her.

People are different, and, while I would find "popping the cherry" tacky, others would find it hilarious. Both reactions are okay.

My best to you and yours.

  15. Ok, so I have to say - that is VERY original and super funny.  Obviously dont' think it should be done, but kudos for thinking up something like that.  And I can definitely relate to not wanting some of your relatives there, ha.

  16. Don't be so hard on grandma.  Remember life if full circle, so one day you may be in her shoes.

  17. isay go for it,   but you should probably also wear a red dress.....just to make it more ironic

  18. Wow you are brave/have no shame.  I would NEVER dream of doing anything like that in front of my PARENTS and FAMILY.  I quite frankly, I would be mortified if I attended a wedding and that happened (and it wasn't even me doing it).  But I guess it's your wedding, and if you are brave enough to stand up in front of your loved ones and do that, to each his own.

Edit:  So this is Yahoo ANSWERS, not Yahoo "rhetorical questions".  If you want to p*** and moan about your poor grandmother and only have your self-centered opinions reaffirmed, and not have people's honest opinions/answers about something, I believe that's what your myspace page is for.  I feel sorry for your grandmother.

  19. thats a little dumb lol i did laugh for a second but then i was like wow -_-

  20. Ha ha.... that's pretty darn funny!!!

  21. I think it is freakin hilarious!!! have fun! You should do it! Your wedding should resemble you and your FH! Who cares what everyone will think!

  22. that's hilarious!! it made me giggle :)

i thought it was going to be a question about how to sneak out of the reception... lol

ignore the losers that forgot how to laugh and that jokes are just that....jokes.

    :D

  23. oh i would cringe if i saw anyone do this ... you clearly have no taste nor class

  24. lol. thanks for making me laugh!

  25. I think it's childish.  Why would you want your grandma so mad she leaves the reception?

  26. It is funny, but not appropriate for wedding reception. Find another way to show your sense of humor...ex: husband can remove garter w/his mouth, dance to a s**y song, ball & chain gag, etc. Your grandmother loves you no doubt, but she'll only ruin your day if you let her.

Congratulations & Good Luck. Let us know how it went!!!
