Poppy seed and my dog?? Please help?

Okay so sometime through the night my dog got my bag of bagels from the counter and devoured them. He is so sweet. Unfortunately they had lots of poppy seed, and I have learned in the past hour that this will make him high. So not only is he high, but Really bloated, and he has horrible gas, and he is belching alot.. My mother in law says all I can do is walk him alot so he can digest easily, and dont give him too much water cause the bloating may get worse. Im just wondering if there is anything else I can do to comfort him? And if he is going to be okay?

I'm sure your dog will be fine, but to be on the safe side maybe you should call your vet and see what they have to say. My dog just ate one of those little silica gel packs you find in medicine and I called and they said he might vomit but would be fine. A lot of posts online said that he would die if he ate those. That made me panic. Try not to overeact, calling your vet would be the best idea.

The best thing would be for you to call the vet and ask them about it. Odds are the poppy seeds aren't your biggest problem, it's the fact that he ate a whole bag of bagels. He's probably really backed up...So my advice would be to ask the vet their opinion!

yh your dog will be  just  give him something to eat so he can excrete the seeds out ....oh and next time  put your belongings some where ,where he can't reach ^^
