Popstar Justin Beiber offered contract by Bakersfield Condors of ECHL
In a surprising move, the Bakersfield Condors of the Eastern Conference Hockey League (ECHL) have made a contract offer to none other than extremely popular popstar Justin Beiber, to come and play hockey for their team.
One thing is for sure that the young sensation just not be agreeing to anything yet as he is definitely busy making a lot more money in singing, but there might be a time when the youngster wants to play some professional hockey.
What seems to have come out as the most surprising fact for those who do not know a whole lot about Beiber is the fact that he can play hockey and according to coach of Backersfield Condors, Matt O’Dette, the singing sensation has got some skills.
"Yes, we would play him if he was up for it," coach http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8460645 told NHL.com. "I have seen video on him and he does have some hockey skills."
This is how the team’s website showed the official announcement,
"The Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Matt O’Dette announced [Tuesday] that they have offered hit-recording artist/RW Justin Bieber an amateur tryout contract for the upcoming 2012-13 season."
The coach goes on to talk about how Beiber has ‘soft hand’ and is good at skating along with believing that his wrist shot is one that just might put goalies at the National Hockey League (NHL) level to shame.
"I would compare him to Mike Ribeiro, formerly of the Dallas Stars, whom I played with back in the AHL with Quebec," O'Dette further told NHL.com. "And Mike Ribeiro was a pretty good dancer, if I remember correctly."
There has been no final confirmation from Bieber’s side, which definitely gives the coach some hope that the superstar singer just might consider his offer for a short term, if not a long term deal.
Updates from Justin Beiber’s side can be expected in the upcoming days as the Bakersfield Condors certainly look forward to bringing the 18-year-old singer on their club, giving it fame and everything else they could use at the moment, along with putting
them in the spotlight as far as the minor league clubs are concerned.
