  1. I can only find 2006 statistics - compiled in 2007 but the migration is also listed.

You may have seen this site. It has the statistics for Northland and then a breakdown but Bay of Islands is not included as an area.

I have found the 2001 population for Bay of Islands - and it was 54576 at this site: http://www2.stats.govt.nz/domino/externa...

  2. I went on the Statistics NZ site and downloaded their Population and Dwelling information. At the moment I can only see the population for Russell 804 people who are residents in 2006. Also the 'Far North District' had 58,065 on census night 2001. I hope that helps. Google Statistics NZ population and dwelling.

    ...

  3. Check out www.stats.govt.nz

Add together the totals given for the towns in the Bay, viz

Waitangi, Paihia, Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Moerewa, Opua and Russell. then add about 11% for the rural land between these towns.
